What are the benefits of membership?
As a member of the Global Thinking Community Network you will;
- Be able to promote the services you provide for schools via the Global Thinking Website, our annual forum and other Global Thinking events.
- Be entitled to discounted rates at Global Thinking training events.
- Be eligible to apply for a grant of up to £3000 from the Global Thinking Curriculum Development Fund.
- Have the opportunity to bid for specific areas of work for the Global Thinking strategy.
- Receive the termly Global Thinking e-noticeboard which will include news and information about recent developments in education, funding opportunities, relevant local events and the work of our members.
Who can join the network?
Membership of the network is open to community based organizations, development education centres, faith groups, black and minority ethnic organizations, arts organizations and individuals committed to supporting the global dimension in education throughout the East of England.
All network members must;
- Be a registered charity, community interest group or voluntary organization. Social enterprises and individuals may also be eligible for membership.
- Have an organisational commitment to enhancing the global dimension in education.
- Agree to the Global Thinking Working Ethos
What educational services do network members provide?
The services provided by the network members include,
- classroom based workshops based on specific global themes or participatory methodologies school based continuing professional development for teachers or initial teacher education and training
- consultancy support to enhance the global dimension in the curriculum and whole school ethos
- guidance and support with developing and maintaining international school partnerships
- the provision of information and resources to schools to support learning for the global dimension
What are the costs of membership?
The Global Thinking Community Network is currently free. In 2009 we will review the membership services provided by the network and may be required to introduce a membership fee following the outcomes of the review.
