What are Global Thinking Mentors ?
Global Thinking Mentors are education practitioners with a wealth of experience in education which emphasizes embedding the global dimension throughout the curriculum. The mentors are supported by Global Thinking to undertake activities beyond their own institutions which demonstrates and shares good practice and provides advice, training or one-to-one support. All Global Thinking Mentors have signed up to the Global Thinking Working Ethos.
What do the Global Thinking Mentors do?
Global Thinking Mentors undertake a range of activities including;
- hosting visitors from other schools or institutions to showcase how they have included the global dimension in their school,
- delivering professional development activities to colleagues from other institutions and educational sectors,
- being a speaker/ workshop leader at conferences or other professional development events in the East of England,
- mentoring the Global Thinking Teachers’ Networks on their area of expertise,
- contributing to Initial Teacher Education courses,
- writing case studies/articles for professional journals and education websites,
- assessing the impact and learning outcomes of Global Dimension work in their own institutions or others.
