Free Curriculum planning tools and support
Educating for a Global Future is an exciting, national initiative. The Harambee Centre is rolling out the project in the Eastern region, supporting up to 45 secondary schools to deliver the Global Dimension by maximising the opportunities in the new secondary curriculum.
A training-based, curriculum development approach will be offered to schools to support them develop, design and manage curricula. There will be opportunities for teachers to develop activities, which enable students to explore issues such as: Poverty Reduction and the Millennium Development Goals; Global Citizenship; and Social Justice and Globalisation. An integral part of this initiative is a Global Dimension Self Evaluation Framework (SEF) to help measure attitudinal change and progress in incorporating the global dimension in the curriculum.
It is free for schools to register for this programme and includes a SEF as well as other free global resources. Extra support for the Global Dimension can be provided for a fee through a range of packages of support from the Harambee Centre.
