The Global Thinking Ethos |
|

The Global Thinking partners share an agreed working ethos. This includes…
- Promoting the Global Dimension as education which enables pupils to engage with global issues, experience and value diversity, understand how their choices impact upon the lives of others and to act wisely and fairly for a sustainable global future.
- Stimulating the creative potential of the education sector to address the global dimension as educational activity integrated across the whole school.
- Supporting the principles of Every Child Matters, Community Cohesion, The Rights of the Child, Millennium Development Goals, and the Sustainable Schools Strategy and helping teachers to apply them.
- Utilising development education teaching methods and resources that develop critical thinking skills, challenge stereotypes and encourage active learning, underpinned by the values of the eight key concepts for the global dimension and the eight doorways for exploring sustainable development in schools
- Working in cross-sector educational partnerships to share information and learning across the East of England.
- Encouraging and facilitating change to ensure that the global dimension is embedded at individual, organisational and policy level.
