Overall aim/mission of the organization:
Formed in 1988, ADEC's mission is to promote Development Education within the Aylesbury Vale community. ADEC's overall aim is to encourage Aylesbury Vale citizens to be global citizens and to: deepen understanding of inter-dependence and connections around the world; encourage greater awareness of individual and community responsibility campaign for for positive action for justice, peace and sustainability encourage development education practice and resources in schools and groups support co-operation and closer working between schools and community

Educational goals and objectives of the organization:
ADEC can offer ... Free sessions and activities in schools, with youth and community groups (Assemblies, class sessions, In service training for staff...) Resources for teachers, group leaders and other educators covering most subject areas (Videos, artefacts, photo-packs, activity ideas, exhibition materials...) through our extensive resource library Projects with local schools including: The Heat Is ON! Discrimation & Poverty Culture and Diversity - Bollywood Dance workshops 'All Together Now' Poster Competition and calendar Involvement in events and exhibitions on global issues (e.g. for Christian Aid Week, Fair Trade Fortnight…) Information about resources, organisations, publications, speakers etc
